Community Garden
2023

I was asked to make a print for the Sheffield edition of Riso Club, an ongoing project by Risotto Studio. Each month, Riso Club chooses an international city and publishes prints from a set of four artists based there.

The brief was to make a print that ‘suggests the essence of the city through small observations and abstraction, and to convey an atmosphere, feeling and a sense of place’.

The essence of Sheffield for me (and a lot of people) is the countryside that surrounds the city. It is our shared community garden.

The design takes Sheffield City Council’s logo, and simply removes the city centre graphic, leaving only the green parts. These are scattered like leaves blown by the wind.

Prints are available here.
