Dictionary of Neoliberal Terms
2019
The Dictionary of Neoliberal Terms is a publication that addresses, critiques and ridicules aspects of neoliberalism’s constantly expanding universe. It is edited by Matthew Cheeseman, Fabienne Collignon and John Miller and published by Spirit Duplicator.
There are currently four volumes, and each one expands on a different set of terms from the ever-growing list. The volumes are colour coded, and pervious entries are referenced each time and identified by colour.
Each volume is a simple four-page folding broadsheet newspaper, designed to be affordable and collectable, with each volume easily slotting into the others.
The logo is made of contradictory symbols: a ‘smiley’, which is now a popular shorthand for a kind of ‘liberal’ culture; and a pound sign, which signifies economics and greed. These co-exist as a yin and yang, like oil and water.
