Ginkgo
Gemma Thorpe
2020

In the autumn of 2020, photographer Gemma Thorpe found a Ginkgo tree in Sheffield’s Botanical Gardens. Over the course of twelve days, she gathered the leaves from the ground beneath the tree and photographed them one by one. Afterwards, she returned each leaf to the ground exactly where it had fallen.

I worked with Gemma to design a series of limited edition A2 format prints, which are available to buy here.

Each edition is accompanied by a (signed) A6 postcard of the Ginkgo tree.

1/20 edition print. 594 x 420mm.

A6 accompanying postcard. 105 x 148mm.
