Inuksuk

An inuksuk (or inuksuit plural) is a type of stone landmark or cairn built by Inuit, Inuit, Iñupiat, Kalaallit, Yupik, and other peoples of the Arctic region of North America.

Built with stone placed upon stone, the inuksuk have historically have been used for navigation, or as reference markers and come in a variety of shapes and sizes.

Some are built together by community groups, which is even more beautiful because the word inuksuk means “that which acts in the capacity of a human”.
